"Hiking Trail Mario Filotto" C.A.I. Montebello

Scenic uphill mixed trail. Possible connection with the equipped trail "Antonio Ponato".

  • Destination: Agugliana, a hamlet of Montebello VI

ROUTE DESCRIPTION

From the monument parking lot on Via IV Novembre, continue on Via Gen. Vaccari towards Piazza Italia, where the marked trail begins. Take Via Castello behind the town hall and proceed uphill until reaching Via San Francesco. Turn right and continue uphill.

On the right, you will first encounter Villa Miari and then, at the top of the hill, the Castle of Maltraverso overlooking the village. At the junction, take Via Ca' del Lupo to continue with a slight descent and ascent. Pass the intersection with Via Perosa and descend on Via Boccara, where you will leave the asphalt and continue on a well-marked trail.

Pass through the vineyards of Contrà Dal Maso and Contrà Bertola. Proceed on the paved road until reaching the cemetery parking lot at the foot of the hill, then take the trail that ascends into the woods.

After three hairpin turns, you will arrive at a rest area surrounded by green olive trees. Continue on the trail, leaving the woods behind, and reach Contrà Guarda. From there, continue towards the church and arrive at the small center of Agugliana.

Challenging and mountaineering route. Possible connection with the Hiking Trail "Mario Filotto".

An easy excursion, partly through the woods, with panoramic views. It is characterized by basalt volcanic rocks, known as "sasso moro," which were used in the construction of houses, many of which are still well preserved.

  • Destination: Agugliana, a hamlet of Montebello VI

ROUTE DESCRIPTION

From the parking lot at Piazza Marconi, ascend Via Capo di Sopra. At Ponte dei Gnoni, turn right onto Via Grisi, and at the second junction on the right, you will find the sign marking the beginning of the trail. Follow the trail, initially passing through a convenient rest area, and then continue along the streambed, encountering three equipped stairs. Once you pass them, you will be in a forest of acacia trees and old chestnuts. When you reach the paved road, turn right and continue until you reach the small center of Agugliana, a hamlet of Montebello Vic.

San Marcello Nature Trail (Montorso)

  • Starting Point: Ponte Cocco square (former elementary school-pizzeria).

ROUTE DESCRIPTION

After a steep start on an asphalt road, gradually ascend the hillside on a dirt road and then a cart track. The route winds through dense, water-rich forests and open fields until reaching the Omo Morto gorge, from where you quickly reach the asphalt road.

Once you pass the Agriturismo al Pozzo, take the dirt road that leads to the church of San Marcello. From there, through the woods and after a brief stop at the well-preserved "Rustico Biasolo," you will reach the main road again, which will bring you back to the starting point.
